  Don't waste your time going here for a winery tasting because if there is more than 10 people having lunch they dont do it...

  Unfortunately the food was less than satisfactory. The waitress was wonderful with great service and was very attentive and tried to make the short comings better but was unable to.
  
  The antipasto was very ordinary with some pretty standard meats. Nothing nicely cured like you would expect at a strongly Italian based venue.
  
  Two of the main meals were good, the steak and the chicken. Unfortunately the two meals that the girls ordered, being the marinated lamb chops were very ordinary. The chops themselves were largely fat and gristle with only a small mouthful of meat on each chop and they could not see or taste any marination. The salad was 'dropped' on the same plate as the chops and was very oily and limp.
  
  Two of the deserts were OK but the small pavlova was very crusty and appeared to be store bought. When we commented we were told that they were made on the premises. We asked for cheese board but there was none available. Also very strange for an strongly based Italian restaurant. The coffee was good as was the local Shiraz.
  
  We were seated at a good table. As a foursome there were only one other couple in the restaurant for most of the meal so they were not busy.
  
  We will dine in Kyneton in the future and not ever takes guests to the Pitruzzello Estate restaurant again.
